I try to explain why I use Drupal and what it is.
Probably you are familiar with the static websites - when developer makes up several pages, connect them with links and fills them up with the static content. After a while the content need to be changed - you should again ask for developer to add/update some content for an additional money. In result every time in order to change the content you need to find developer and pay money.
Some people solve the problem of the static websites by developing an own CMS. This approach has two disadvantages. The first one is connection CMS to the person who developed this CMS. Because it is always difficult to find out how custom CMS works. As result you have a problem to find a developer who wants to sort out how does it work. The second one is a lot of bugs (bad testing) due to developing a system by one person.
In our days the Drupal is a very popular CMS. It was appeciated as the best CMS of the 2008-2009 years. This is a free, open source and flexible system - it gives an opportunity to develop different websites on the different subject areas: blogs, forums, ecommerce sites, business sites, communities, news sites e.t.c. Also we can change every static site on dynamic. So the users can add new content (articles, images , video etc) on the site through the admin page . For example we want to develop a jobsite. Job seeker can add a job advertisement after registration. Every job advertisement has to contain: Sur name, first name, foto, age, skills, expected salary e.t.c. . All sorts of these tasks we could implement on Drupal.
We can assign different access rights to users. So different users can have different rights for adding and viewing the content of the site. For example we would like to develop a news site. We can create two types of users: Editor and Admin. As result Editor has the rights to create and view own articles and Admin has the rights to publish them.
The best Drupal advantage is the presence of a big community. It is mean that all issues and challenges will be solved very quickly.
I use a system approach in developing of websites. I divide the project into subtasks and establish a time for each one. Client can track down the process of work - what was done and what I am going to do. The guarantee of success is good comunication for this I have daily meeting with client about project status.
